Have you done any volunteer work:I am a fitness expert volunteer with the American Cancer Society in San Diego, in a few of their programs including the 5-A day Nutrition program working with, and following up Cancer survivors, as well as the Body and Soul program which worked closely with the churches in the African-American community. I was a training coach for the 2004 MS 3-day Walk. I also worked with the MSPAN program at SDSU as a volunteer to the middle schools promoting fitness and exercise.
Why should a client train with you:I am a fun, knowledgeable and caring personal trainer who believes that everyone can succeed in his or her health and fitness goals with the right assistance. I train all my clients based upon their goals, body type and fitness levels. I believe that the relationship between my clients and myself is based upon trust, honesty, commitment, communication, accountability, motivation and laughter. Success is what you make it!
How would you help an overweight client lose weight:After conducting a fitness assessment, I would discuss proper nutrition and have them start utilizing a nutrition diary. Strength training (depending on client's schedule) would be 2-3 times a week, along with cardio 4-6 times a week, 45-minutes cumulative a day. Their nutrition program would be based around real foods, not a unrealistic eating plan, that the whole family could enjoy and could do forever.
