Why have you become a trainer:I became a personal trainer first and foremost because I needed a way to make me stay in shape, I'll be honest! I was tired, fatigued and frustrated and I couldn't take it anymore. So I know the feeling folks.....been there, done that! But I also just love helping people, and the satisfaction I get from that is nothing that I can describe. When I help you reach your health and fitness goals, you help me with mine. It's a win-win situation!
What in your opinion is the biggest mistake people make while working out:The biggest mistake people make while training is they don't push themselves hard enough! They don't do cardio long enough or get their THR high enough. And they don't do enough sets while strength training. It may take 3-4 sets, that's a lot. Probably a lot more than you are doing now! But just remember, you only have to workout out this hard once. Because once you're at a healthy weight and eating right, all that will require of you is maintenance workouts. Now is that motivation or what!
How would you help an overweight client lose weight:I like to teach by the ZigZag method. You eat less on cardio days and more on strength training days. This enables you to lose weight without losing that precious muscle that is going to give you the toned (or even buff) look! On most other diets, you will lose your muscle first when cutting calories, then fat. The ZigZag method doesn't do this. It even allows you certain days of the week where you get to eat more, no how's that for a diet?!!!
