What is your training style:I feel I am very much a teacher and educator of the fitness lifestyle. I desire to someday teach at the college level, and I feel that teaching someone in a personal training setting is giving me experience to do that. I like to instruct a person in the way that they learn best. In other words, if a client is a visual learner i will bring them anatomy pictures or diagrams, or if a client is a kinesthetic learner i will direct them in the exercise physically showing them how to execute the set
What in your opinion is the biggest mistake people make while working out:The biggest mistake I see people making while they workout are technique and form in exercise. Most people either see things done in a video or a magazine and are not properly shown how to do the exercise or how the exercise can effect them. A certified personal trainer has the experience to show how to properly perform functional, machine, and free weight exercises as to not get hurt and maximize performance.
What do you think about the latest trends in the fitness industry:I think the functional training that has come along the last few years has upsides and downsides. The upside is people are training for function; meaning to mimic everyday activities and in a sense give themselves a more prosperous lifestyle. The negative to functional training is that most people do not know how to properly perform these activities, and subsequently will injure themselves. Before the machine era of the 1970s, functional training was just something everyone did.
