Trainer Experience Questions:

What is your training style:

My focus in training people (athletes or not) is to teach them how to use their bodies to their full potential. Athletes looking to compete at the highest level need to learn how to generate force with their body for their specific sport. I also have a passion for helping people who are looking to lose weight. Most people know what needs to be done, but need help breaking their poor behavior patterns. Helping someone find happiness with their body keeps me motivated in my career.

What in your opinion is the biggest mistake people make while working out:

The first mistake many people make in committing themselves to working out is they are looking for a temporary changes to create a lifetime of results. Starting workouts too aggressively with a short sighted goal in mind usually leads to burn out and short term results. Another big mistake is not being open to variety. Lack of variety in exercise leads to unbalanced results. Muscular imbalances can lead to limited results or worse, injury. Always be open to trying new forms of exercise.

What other skills do you bring to the table besides your training experience:

My understanding of different sports and the intricacies of their different positions helps me tailor workouts for all athletes. I also have a sharp eye for biomechanics and recognizing what imbalances are limiting athletes progression. I also have a minor in psychology and I apply what I learned about behavior change to help my clients lose weight and get healthy. Most people know not to eat a bowl of ice cream every night, but they need help in learning how to change that behavior. :)
