Trainer Experience Questions:

What in your opinion is the biggest mistake people make while working out:

There are three main mistakes people make when they are working out. 1) Choosing poor exercises Many people pick isolation exercises over compound exercises. Or they will choose exercises that exacerbate problems the person has. 2) Using machines over free weights Many people choose machines over free weights because it is marketed as being safer however this is incorrect. 3) Not changing your diet If you're still eating poorly all the working out you do won't change anything.

Why should a client train with you:

I am up to date on the latest research in the health and fitness industry. I integrate many different training philosophies into my own and adapt to the needs of the person or people I am working with. I have experience working with Division I athletes all the way to the geriatric. I have a real passion for this industry which is why I immerse myself in the latest research. You will lose weight, build muscle, and improve the quality of your life if you work with me.

How would you help an overweight client lose weight:

We would focus on lifestyle changes. We would keep a food log of what the person is eating and we would make changes that the person could live with to start a healthier lifestyle. We would also focus on resistance training centered around compound exercises to create what is called excess post-workout oxygen consumption (EPOC). That raises the metabolism for upward of 24 hours. These two things will help an overweight client lose fat and build lean muscle to create the body desired.
