What is your training style:My training style runs the gamut. I believe in testing one's limits in a safe, fun and effective way. If I see they're body and mind are responding favorably I'll keep that regimen going.( Don't fix what aint broke!) I think attentiveness is key even to the smallest details. " Know thy customer". The information you take at initial consult helps pave the way thru (at least) the initial conditioning phase. All thru each conditioning phase is education both for me and the client.
Why have you become a trainer:I was born for this line of work. I'm a "gym rat" who used to take his friends aside and teach them effective exercises. When I saw them getting results I decided to take it many steps foreward. Seeing peoples' lives change for the better is why I'm there for them. It's what it's all about. This is the first job that I can honestly say I love to wake up to. That hasn't changed in 8 1/4 years and about 10,000 appointments.
Have you done any volunteer work:I certainly have. Aside from volunteering my time and efforts at wellness seminars with Dick Corporation, a large construction firm, Pepsi, Einstein Bros. Bagels, and large Senior facillities in and around Pittsburgh, I help several "special needs" homes and drop-in centers start/improve their fitness programs. A lot of weekends are devoted to this. It brings satisfaction and accomplishment for all involved.
