What is your training style:Training style is adapted to the personality of the client. Some clients prefer a relaxed approach to training ( usually beginners ) and some require a little more motivation, I call this method the drill sergeant method. An experienced Trainer will know how to get the most out of their client and what motivation techniques will work best for them. I ask clients in the consult certain questions to try and find out which personality type the are leaning towards and plan my training accordingly.
What do you think about the latest trends in the fitness industry:Certain Trends in the industry are "gimmicks" and some are welcomed. I believe that you can get results with just about any method if you are truly determined. Functional training is one of the latest methods of training that I believe you can actually impede your rate of weight loss, if that is in fact your goal. I see a lot of trainers spending too much emphasis on getting a client to balance on a ball, when they could be better off doing another exercise for shedding body fat.
How would you help an overweight client lose weight:Losing weight requires knowledge of cardiovascular exercises (target HR), basic nutrition knowledge, and consistency. I generally do a circuit training routine for the entire session trying to keep the clients heart rate elevated while doing various forms of resistance training with minimal rest in between sets. I also emphasis the importance of eating to stimulate the metabolism. Generally smaller meals and eating more frequently.
