What is your training style:I believe in fitness training that emphasizes the natural movements of the body. My training techniques involve a combination of functional strength training and Pilates, utilizing cable systems, Pilates equipment (springs and pulleys), weights, and functional pieces of equipment such as various fitness balls, balance boards, foam rolls, etc. Since the body works synergistically, as one unit in everyday activities, I believe that is how the body should be trained.
What in your opinion is the biggest mistake people make while working out:They try to do things on their own or copy what others are doing. Instead of receiving proper instruction on technique, they go it alone. The best way to get in shape is to hire a certified instructor. For example, if I were to take up the martial arts, I wouldn't go it on my own. I would go to a reputable establishment that teaches my particular discipline or I would hire a private instructor. Well working out is no different. One needs to invest the time and energy into proper instruction.
Describe your own workout program:I was strictly a weight lifter up until a few years ago, but have since migrated into the full regimen of disciplines. My own workout program consists of light to moderate weight lifting (free weights and machines), functional core training (weight bearing exercises, bands, BOSU/Stability balls and bands), Pilates (mat classes and Reformer) and cardiovascular training either on an in studio cardio machine or running at the local track.
