What is your training style:My training style is based on what my client's learning style and motivation orientation profile is. What is motivating to one person can be intimidating to someone else. The exercise and sport psychology courses that I had in graduate school have helped tremendously in determining how to recognize the motivation orientation of different individuals, what their response to certain situations is likely to be, and how to adjust my coaching accordingly. Every client is unique!
What in your opinion is the biggest mistake people make while working out:The biggest mistake people make is not having a clear sense of direction about what they are trying to accomplish. There should be a specific reason for each and every exercise a person does, the intensity or duration at which they do it, frequency of doing it, and rest periods. Ask yourself these questions:
Why are you doing this exercise?
What are the advantages to doing it this way?
What are the disadvantages to doing it this way?
What are the alternatives to doing it this way?
Why should a client train with you:I develop truly customized training programs for my clients by:
1) Learning what their specific goals and interests are.
2) Performing assessments to determine what their strengths and weaknesses are at a given point in time.
3) By knowing exactly where they want to go (#1) and exactly where they are starting from (#2), I can then design a customized program to help them achieve their goals in the most effective and efficient manner. No contracts or minimum number of sessions are required.
