What in your opinion is the biggest mistake people make while working out:Falling into the all-or-nothing mentality - what I call the "back burner trap." It is easy when life throws challenges at you (kids getting sick, overtime at work, etc.) to put exercise on the back burner until the stressful period passes. But most likely you do not pick right back up where you left off, but take longer to get back on track than planned. All-or-nothing eventually leaves you with nothing. Learning to be flexible lets you maintain your healthy habits whatever happens in life.
Why should a client train with you:I specialize in working with busy professionals who are fed up with the guilt and pressure of traditional diet and exercise programs. As a fitness coach, I help them to look good and feel great. Someone who relates to this, likes the idea of phone coaching because it easily fits into his/her hectic schedule, and wants to reach and maintain his/her body's ideal weight without dieting, would be a good fit with my coaching style and experience.
How would you help an overweight client lose weight:I help each client get clear on what s/he really wants to achieve and why - we get at the core of the reasons so that it serves as a powerful motivator. We assess current exercise and eating habits to bridge the gap between the current reality and the goal. I develop strategies so that time is not wasted on ineffective exercise. Instead of traditional diets and deprivation, clients learn intuitive eating to reach and maintain their body's ideal weight. All coaching is customized to each client.
