What is your training style:Personal Training is exactly what it means - individual. I work with a wide variety of clientele and customize an exercise program to fit their goals, schedule and equipment. I also believe that the exercise program needs to be changed at least every 4-6 weeks to prevent plateaus and to keep the program interesting. Many of my clients are people who have always exercised, but needed my expertise in creating the right program for them.
What in your opinion is the biggest mistake people make while working out:Doing too much exercise too soon. Not only is it harmful to muscles and joints, but it is a major reason why people quit an exercise program as they also experience "exercise burnout". I am a firm believer in a gradual progression of exercise. Consistency is the key to a successful exercise program so that is my first goal for each client - to make the program "do-able" so that they are consistent which leads to results. Proper exercise technique is also crucial to a successful program.
In general, please describe your experience:I have 20 years experience in designing exercise programs for all populations, including those recovering from serious medical conditions to individuals striving for a healthier lifestyle. Prior to owning my business, I worked in a hospital wellness and rehab center where I did post physical therapy and cardiac rehabilitation as well as working with healthy individuals. I have worked with all ages ranging from 8-93+.
