Why have you become a trainer:I became a trainer to help others realize the fantastic benefits of fitness. I believe that as a personal trainer that I can make a difference in the health and fitness of others. My knowledge and expertise can be applied to help people lose body fat and build muscle. I see myself as a coach, mentor, motivator and consultant. I help you achieve your fitness and health goals. I get excited when I see my clients achieve their goals. That keeps me going.
In general, please describe your experience:Although originally a graduate Mechanical Engineer, I have had a lifelong interest in fitness and nutrition (besides my Engineering career). Now retired from Engineering, I can devote my experience, knowledge, passion to others. I am certified with the National Strength and Conditioning Assn and have trained over 35 people in the last 3 years. I have lifted weights, studied weight training and nutrition for over 40 years . My specialty is weight loss and muscle gain.
How would you help an overweight client lose weight:I put my overweight clients on my "Inches Away" program. This program involves weight training 2-3 times a week, cardiovascular exercise like fast walking or interval training, and a personal commitment to attend a sensible diet program like Weight Watchers. All three components must be applied to successfully lose body fat and keep it off. This program is proven by good science and is an accepted practice as the best way to lose body fat in a safe and efficient manner.
