What in your opinion is the biggest mistake people make while working out:The biggest mistake I see people make is not listening to their bodies. If you have it on your agenda to lift heavy today, but you were up all night with a sick child, perhaps you should go with light weights and more reps to reduce the risk of injury. A lot of times I see people in the gym going from one piece of equipment to another without any type of plan. You need to know what you are going to focus on that day.
What other skills do you bring to the table besides your training experience:Real life experience in a variety of sports and activities. If I have a client who wants to conquer a mountain, I get out there and climb too. Why hide behind textbooks and sports journals when you can get out there and experience what your client is experiencing. If I see that a client is feeling stressful, we may go over and pit the heavy bag for 5 minutes to relieve anxiety and get focused. I always have a plan A, B and C!
Why should a client train with you:Workout is such a terrible word. After all, it contains the word "work". My clients always laugh and have fun while we train. After all, life is too short to be grumpy! If my clients don't like a particular exercise, we don't do it. There are too many exercises out there to waste our time doing something we don't truly enjoy. I am proud to say that I have found a job that I truly love and can put 100% of my energy into. I am confident that while we train together, you will feel special!
