What other skills do you bring to the table besides your training experience:I have been blessed to have been an All-American distance runner which took me into a nice career as an NCAA D-I coach as well as a coach for several professional endurance athletes. Needless to say, this high level training experience helps me help clients at all ability levels. A client needs not be a top level athlete to benefit from the foundations of training the body. The basics remain constant and the sky it ultimately the limit for everyone!
In general, please describe your experience:I have been a personal trainer since my college years when the title actually wasn't personal trainer... Early in my career I simply helped folks learn to use machines properly and gave them ideas of how to improve their programs. Ultimately I found myself with a full list of clients and athletes wanting help. I was happy to assist. I learned a long time ago to help others succeed and I will succeed. Now, I own my own studio in Cary, NC. as well as runing an online training program.
How would you help an overweight client lose weight:I use a simple formula with four components. Simply, there must be an appropriate level of cardiovasculr stimulus (not too much and not too little). We need to give attention to lean muscle mass development through various means. We cannot leave out a nutritional situation that can be sustained throughout life and finally there needs to be a place for rest and recover. Put these four components in the right place and time and barring any hormonal problems weight loss is guaranteed!
