Why have you become a trainer:I have always struggled with my weight. I know what it is like to be heavy and to have a poor self image. Since my weight loss I have learned how to eat well balanced meals and to live a healthy lifestyle. I became a personal fitness trainer through World Instructor Training Schools to not only educate myself more but to also help others to become healthy, to promote healthy living and to be a positive role model and motivator to those who struggle with their weight.
Describe your own workout program:I do my best to exercise every day. I know what it takes to be disciplined. I have run in many 5 K races, I completed one marathon, a half marathon, a duathlon and two sprint triathlons. I am currently training for a Olympic Distance triathlon. I run, bike, swim, strength train, stretch, practice Yoga, do core training and try to be as active as I can. I enjoy hiking, walking, snow shoeing in the winter and participate in an indoor spin class during the winter months. Exercise is so important!
How would you help an overweight client lose weight:I would be able to relate to a overweight client for I know what it was like to struggle with my own weight. I would try to provide motivation and encouragement. I would try my best to get the person interested in exercising and eating healthy. I would try to make workouts fun. I would encourage goal setting and help the client try to reach their goals. I know that losing weight is not an easy process and it may take some time and effort. I would try to not let the client get discouraged.
