What is your training style:My training style is summed up in the tag line for Archetype Personal Training, which is "In-home Personal Training for the Holistically-minded". Convenience and balance in all things are what help move a person toward their fitness goals. I combine metabolic typing with whole food nutrition, muscle balance correction with strength training, and education on both physical and mental/emotional awareness. This provides clients with a balanced approach to fitness that changes lifestyles!
Please describe how you would train a 45 year old male with type II diabetes in order to lose weight:Type II diabetic clients are usually on several medications, so cooperation with the physician is imperative. After discussing the doctor's recommendations, and determining the client's metabolic type, a program would be devised using the correct exercise style and ratio of macronutrients to induce weight loss at a normal rate. The doctor would be able to adjust medication as needed. If the client stays the course, usually a healthy, medication-free lifestyle can achieved!
How would you help an overweight client lose weight:If real estate is "location, location, location", then weight loss is "nutrition, nutrition, nutrition". Exercise has VAST benefits and should NOT be left out of the equation; however the biggest impact on a person's body composition will be made simply by what one puts into his/her mouth. Correct food choices can be made based on metabolic type and daily caloric expenditure. Add positive affirmations to help instill good habits and you have the makings for success!
