Why have you become a trainer:I have always enjoyed exercise, and I have considered entering the teaching field as a second career (after 25+ years in Logistics). Training allows me to do both, concentrating on an individual and their specific goals, schedule, lifestyle and limitations. One must be a friend, teacher and motivator as a trainer, as they have entrusted you to do what is in their best interest. It is a trust to be taken very seriously.
Do you think a personal trainer should be also a good salesman:No,I don't think they should have to be, but in reality they should. I am somewhat discouraged that training involves sales as much as it does. It appears to be an unfortunate and necessary evil, as I would much prefer to spend my time on each clients fitness situation rather than financial matters.
This is the main reason I have stayed in a health club setting until now, as sales is not my strong point.sales is not
In general, please describe your experience:I'm glad I have entered this field, it has been a rewarding experience so far.
I intend to persue additional and specialty certifications to advance, and hope to eventually have a large and loyal client base of my own. My goal is to have several in-home clients who will become success stories, reaching their fitness goals and telling others. I'm glad I made this choice, and will keep working hard to make the most of it.
