What is your training style:Everyone has different fitness goals and objectives, I strive to understand each individual desired goal and adapt a program based on the individual need. Determining a clients level of motivation and any barriers that might get in the way to obtaining their desired goals, is a key part of personal training. I tend to adapt my style to fit each unique client, some clients are looking for strength & core training, other are looking to bulk up.
What in your opinion is the biggest mistake people make while working out:The biggest mistake I see in people when watching them working out is poor form/technique. Over and over again I see people putting themselves at risk for an injury by using improper form/technique. Additionally, I see people increasing the amount of weight or intensity of an exercise before perfecting their form & getting the most from the exercise. I encourage people to work out smarter not harder, focus on mastering an exercise and reaping the rewards before increasing the intensity.
What other skills do you bring to the table besides your training experience:In addition to my personal training experience I bring nutritional counseling and a social work background. Nutrition is key to any successful fitness program, helping people to understand how and what to eat is the difference between temporary changes and long-term success. My social work experience enables me to listen to my clients, provide professional and supportive feedback in a way that is most beneficial to that person, and motivate my clients based on their style.
