Trainer Experience Questions:

Why have you become a trainer:

I love helping people, in particular overweight women, realize that they CAN achieve their goals in order to be healthier and happier, both physically and mentally. I like teaching people that "IT IS REALLY NOT THAT HARD". It is so rewarding so see a client come into workout, and I can tell that they are tired, or really just not "into" it that day, but then after about 10 minutes into their workout, you see them start to smile and come to life.

What in your opinion is the biggest mistake people make while working out:

I think one of the biggest mistakes people make in working out is doing the same thing over and over again, and not making progress. Anther mistake is "taking the easy way out". Usually the hardest of exercises are the most effective. Another mistake is wasting time in the gym. TIME in the gym does not always equal WORK done in the gym. On the other hand you have people who spend hours upon hours in the gym, but yet the work they are doing is not effective, or what they should be doing for them.

How would you help an overweight client lose weight:

First of all, "LISTEN" to them. In order to help someone establish healthier eating habits and to stop overeating, you have to find out what is eating them. How I would go about changing their eating and exercise habits would totally depend on where they are at NOW. I have no "Cookie Cutter" approach. That is the beauty of PERSONAL TRAINING. You have to do what is best for that person. The #1 thing is to move people from eating processed foods&fast food, and into eating fresh ,whole foods. .
