Why have you become a trainer:I love working with people who really need the help to acheive a goal. If that's weight loss, flexibility, balance, core strength, the part of personal training I enjoy the most is the excitement out of the client when they have achieved a goal. I have been diabetic for 26 years and fitness has been what has kept me in line.
What is your training style:I train both in-home and at gyms in the area. I leave the choice of where to train to the client. I believe strongly in prop training, using medicine balls, bands, free weights, and swiss balls to train. I feel that the more one can use the core to stabilize the better the training! If I train a client in a gym, I prefer to use cables and body weight exercises.
In general, please describe your experience:I currently have 12 clients a week, some who I work with daily. I also teach 8 classes a week, ranging from Sr. Low Impact to Kickboxing and Abs. I have kept clients on an average of 3 years at a time. I have worked with clients using the Apex system to achieve weight loss, and currently incorporate their choice of eating plan into my training sessions. I also will run, walk, bike, etc. with clients for motivation purposes.
