What in your opinion is the biggest mistake people make while working out:I think the biggest mistake people make when they work out is resting too much between sets. By resting too much between sets you don't stimulate the body to produce hormones (testosterone for men and growth hormone for women) that are responsible for muscle adaptations. I believe that unless you are a power lifter or training for a strength competition you should keep your rest periods between sets to no longer than 90 seconds.
What do you think about the latest trends in the fitness industry:The latest trend in the fitness industry that like the most is functional training. In my opinion, person gets a lot more out of an exercise if they have to concentrate on multiple muscle groups in order to get the exercise done. Also, I like teaching people how to do things with their own body weight because a lot of people think that they can only get a workout if they are lifting something other than themselves.
How would you help an overweight client lose weight:First, I would figure out the clients body fat percentage. From that I would be able to figure out their metabolic rate. Once you have someone's metabolic rate you can figure out how many calories they can eat in a day and to figure out how many calories someone needs to eat to create a big enough calorie deficit so they start drawing on their fat reserves for energy. Then you give them a resistance training program to increase their muscle mass so they will burn even more calories in a day.
