Why have you become a trainer:I have become a trainer because I want to help people to lose weight, get fit, and feel better about themselves. Being fit raises self esteem, and also helps us to be healthy older adults without diseases. I enjoy helping people become more healthy. I also enjoy watching the changes in people as they become stronger and as their bodies change. With that comes a whole new attitude. They smile more, they are in a good mood, and their general disposition is much improved.
What in your opinion is the biggest mistake people make while working out:The biggest mistake people make while working out is improper form and lifting too much weight so they look like they are stronger than they really are. Improper form is very unsafe. When people lift more weight than they can handle, this causes improper form and can be a danger to the one lifting as well as people around them if they should drop the weight. I often see people doing the lat pull down wrong. Pulling straight back instead of straight down.
Have you done any volunteer work:No, not yet. But I want to volunteer at some nursing homes and work with the elderly to help them be more mobile and feel better. Not many nursing homes or senior facilities have very good programs. Elderly people need to be fit and healthy also. They sit a lot and I think they need to be up and moving around. That will improve circulation and possibly keep them from having even more problems from being immobile.
