What in your opinion is the biggest mistake people make while working out:I think the biggest mistakes people make while working out are; too much too soon, never varying their workout, and lack of good form. New people sometimes do not pace themselves and end up burning out rather quickly. Changing your workout periodically is critical to obtain the best results. Our bodies adapt to the workouts we perform and need change to continue getting results. Using correct form while doing exercises will prevent injuries and achieve the best results.
What other skills do you bring to the table besides your training experience:I have an extensive educational background from certifications, conventions, seminars, and workshops. My degree is in nutrition and fitness so I am able to help people with weight loss along with their workout. I myself lost over 100 pounds about 20 years ago and have kept if off. I have also worked with clients for sports specific goals such as rock climbing and snowmobile racing. My years of experience have given me sklls to relate to clients and helping them reach results.
How would you help an overweight client lose weight:First, I would let them know that I have personal experience with weight loss and understand the struggle and the work that it takes to lose weight. I worked at a weight loss clinic and use the skills I learned there to help my clients. I give them guidelines to follow and encourage them to weigh in once a week with me because the accountability to another person helps a lot. I also personal train them to help with the exercise side of losing weight. I have many successful clients.
