What in your opinion is the biggest mistake people make while working out:There are so many mistakes that people make, its tough to just list one. A big mistake I see is overtraining - not knowing when to rest. Others are: bad exercise technique, bad exercise selection, and a lack of exercise progression. All to often, people will continually train with the same exercise and set/rep routines. The body not only adapts to the exercise, but if the program is not timed correctly, overtraining will occur and you will hit a plateau.
What do you think about the latest trends in the fitness industry:The latest trends are ridiculous. Trainers are quick to sell clients on the new "craze" and they make up excuses as to why it works. Clients themselves sometimes are at fault because they believe what the trainer is telling them. Trainers will rush a client into doing these exercises, without a proper base, just to entertain the client and attempt to amaze them! It all comes down to the "nuts and bolts" when first trying to achieve a clients goals.
What other skills do you bring to the table besides your training experience:Motivation. A fun atmosphere. An ear that listens. I pride myself on being able to read my clients and help jump start their workout through motivational techniques. Some things work that may work for, will not work for someone else. I find what works for you. The workouts are not set in stone. If you have a bad day, or something is physically bothering you, I adjust the workout to fit your needs. Finally, I want you to have fun. I provide an atmosphere that will make you WANT to workout!
