My Introduction:
What is your training style?
The basis of my training is strategic progression. Consequently, I design workout programs in phases, each having a distinct emphasis. Given my background in mechanics, I heavily focuses on balance and stability at movement chains and the integrity of all movement chains involved in movements. As a personal trainer, my job is to facilitate exercises that are challenging but appropriately match the ability of my client.
Describe your own workout program?
Being a beach volleyball player, my training in the gym is aimed at improving my performance on the court. I asses my movement regularly and address weakness in my movement chains. For example, if my knees are stiff I would design exercises that would improve my flexibility. Intermittently, I perform heavy lifts like traditional squats or dead lifts. However, I make sure I properly progress so to avoid any injuries. I also enjoy cross training, like kick boxing, running (hills), and plyometrics.
What other skills do you bring to the table besides your training experience?
In addition to being a personal trainer, I am also certified in Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT). MAT is a method of restoring muscle balance at joints. This method is very useful for reducing muscle-skeletal pain, like lower back pain, plantar fasciitis, knee pain and many much more. Moreover, this method is an excellent modality for injury prevention or preparing the body for stress demands of a workout routine.
