My Introduction:
What other skills do you bring to the table besides your training experience?
I am also a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC). Which means I am qualified to evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate injuries that occur in sports. With most clients this is advantageous because I do a lot of preventative conditioning based upon their personal risk factors and lifestyle. I have worked with everyone from youth to professional athletes and everything in between to accomplish some amazing post injury results.
Describe a particularly challenging client you have trained?
I worked with this particular client for three years to overcome some major obstacles. In the course of three years we managed to have her lose 80 lbs of fat in the midst of dealing with some major unresolved reconstructive orthopedic issues with her feet and lower legs. She battled the setbacks of many surgeries while we were working together. Through many tears and setbacks we accomplished her goals of finally having the body that she wanted.
How would you help an overweight client lose weight?
Weight loss is a personal and very much individual battle. We all have our hang ups and bod habits so I try to work on one thing at a time. By using my client's strengths against their weaknesses we slowly work our way through the mental and physical battle gaining momentum and health as we go. Training days are hard but the reward at the end is a active life of health and good self esteem (well worth the journey)
