My Introduction:
Why have you become a trainer?
I have a true desire to help people attain and maintain a healthy lifestyle. I have several family members who are in the medical and health field, so, I decided I wanted to do become a certified personal trainer because it is something I am very compassionate about. Plus, my father is a diabetic, overweight, and not in very good health. He is this way, I believe because he never exercised or took care of himself when he was younger. I want to teach people the benefits of exercise and nutrition.
Have you done any volunteer work?
I have a few clients I instruct strictly online for free. "People don't care about how much you know, until they know about how much you care"-Rick Warren. I have also volunteered my services to friends and family. Outside of training, I like to help others in any way I can as well as volunteer at my church when needed. It is always better to give and receive and there is nothing that makes me feel better than to know I was there for someone when they really needed me.
What other skills do you bring to the table besides your training experience?
I spent 5 years in the navy as a firefighter. I trained enlisted and officers alike in fitness and nutrition to help them pass the navy's rigorous physical fitness tests. I started learning about the benefits of exercise and nutrition at the age of 13 when my cousin gave me a 20 pound dumbbell. I was scrawny and too thin and helped me get started. From there, I began reading health magazines and doing what the experts said to do.
